ASA Urges Repairers to Contact Congress in support of Funding for Perkins Act |

WASHINGTON, D.C — The Automotive Service Association (ASA), which is in support of full
funding for the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998, is urging repairers to contact
Congress about President Bush’s fiscal year 2007 budget proposal that aims to eliminate funding to
the Act. The Perkins Act provides funding for vocational education that, in turn, provides many jobs and necessary
education for thousands of students.
